International Women's Day is a day recognized to honor the contributions of women in the fields of education, business, culture, and politics. Women's rights and gender equality are highlighted on this day.

In Sydney, the theme for this years' International Women's Day is #BreakTheBias, a nod to the vital role that women, men, and individuals of all gender identities play in achieving gender parity.

This coming March 8, here are some events you can join in celebrating International Women's Day!

1. International Women's Day 2022: Building Back Fairer

March 8, 2022, 8:00 am

Rare Birds has asked a panel of experts to share their thoughts and ideas on developing an Australian economy that works for everyone.

What to expect from this event?

A complimentary live breakfast and networking event will be held for guests in Sydney. For those who can't make it there in person, they will provide a link to a live stream.

At the event in Sydney, attendees will have the opportunity to meet and network with speakers and other attendees over a light breakfast and drinks. Along with that, they'll get a copy of #IFSHECANICAN, written by Jo Burston.

5. #BreakTheBias: Women Poets Perform on International Women's Day

Poetry Sydney fosters new ideas, discoveries, and creative impulses by showcasing contemporary Australian poets. Poets from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines are featured in this event.

The following women poets are among those who will be featured in a live-streamed hour-long performance of their work:
